Congratulations to PCL Construction and the entire project team for the successful completion of the CN Overpass that used 16 precast concrete box girders, each over 28 meters in length, fabricated by Lafarge Precast for the North of Yellowhead CN Overpass Project in Strathcona County.
Managing the complexities of on-site construction during the winter months, combined with the challenges of working around an active train route, was made more efficient with the use of precast concrete girders. Precast was the ideal solution, allowing for off-site fabrication well in advance of the installation, leading to significant schedule efficiencies.
