Lafarge Precast proudly contributed to the Inter Pipeline Petrochemical Complex in Strathcona County by supplying and installing insulated load-bearing wall panels for five key buildings: the Gas Turbine Building North, Gas Turbine Building South, Boiler Feed Water Building, Water Treatment Building, and the Air and Pump Building.
This project required extensive engineering and design expertise, as the wall panels varied in height from 33′-6″ to 40′-8″ and needed to meet stringent thermal performance criteria. Additionally, the panels were engineered for a “Post Disaster” design, ensuring they could withstand extreme conditions while maintaining structural integrity.
The installation presented unique challenges, occurring from November to March during harsh winter weather. However, the benefits of precast concrete became evident, enabling efficient installation despite the adverse conditions. Our team’s ability to produce insulated wall panels in our environmentally controlled plant ensured consistent quality and performance, allowing for timely delivery and installation of all components.
By engaging early in the project development stage, Lafarge played a vital role in optimizing the use of precast to reduce construction timelines and uphold safety standards throughout the process. This collaboration highlights the value of precast concrete in creating durable, efficient, and high-performance infrastructure. The successful completion of this project showcases Lafarge Precast’s capacity to meet complex engineering requirements while delivering on time and to the highest standards of quality, further reinforcing our commitment to excellence in all aspects of construction.
