West Edmonton Mall will soon have a new Precast Concrete Parkade. The General Contractor Chandos and Lafarge Precast Edmonton developed a cost effective precast parking solution which included the use of long span precast concrete double tees allowing for the removal of nearly 70% of the columns when compared to earlier concepts. Shoppers will not have their parking spaces obstructed with columns in this new structure.
This new parkade, located on the South West side of West Edmonton Mall near Entrance 40, will tie an additional 258 elevated parking stalls into an existing parking structure. Lafarge precast will be responsible for the design, as well as, the supply and installation of the precast concrete elements for this new addition.
