Concrete Bridge Girders
We specialize in the design, engineering and production of concrete bridge girders for the infrastructure sector. To continually meet the needs of our clientele we produce a of a wide variety of bridge girders products, ranging from long span pre-stressed concrete NU Bridge Girders to shorter pre-stressed concrete Box Bridge Girders. Our pre-stressing systems provide longer spans and higher loading capacity, this combined with the size and versatility of our precast facility means we are able to produce multiple bridge girders varying in size at the same time, enabling us the ability to work within the tight time constraints required for modern day infrastructure projects.
As reflected by our CPCI certification our quality control vigilance, documentation, systems and procedures ensure that our concrete bridge girders are produced to the highest possible standards. Our engineering team and quality control team work closely to design and develop specialist concrete mix designs enabling us to produce stronger faster curing concrete, this combined with a state of the art steam curing kiln system means our product reaches its exceptional maximum strength swiftly. The success of this system is equaled by our production team's commitment to quality, emphasizing on quality over production is one of the primary reasons why our clients choose to work with us time and time again.
Due to the flexibility of precast concrete products and our design and engineering teams innovative ability to develop options and solutions for our clients, we can propose a wide variety of concrete bridge girder options to suit any project or environment. Our pre-stressing designs can accommodate for thinner sections and longer spans, likewise our intricate concrete mix designs and batching technology can accommodate more a high quality aesthetic finish.
The Lafarge Precast Edmonton engineering team will calculate the numerical quantities of physical forces to physical configurations of force-resisting elements for each bridge girder, whilst at the same time determining the forces in each element within the structure, they will then analyze and design a configuration of elements to resist the forces to which the entire structure will be exposed. Our engineering team will ensure that all of our precast structural components and elements are designed and engineered to form a systematic bridge structure that can resist all loads that will act upon it across its lifetime. Examples of some of the concrete bridges and girders that we have designed using these system on are shown below:
Depending upon the requirements of the contract our Lafarge Precast Edmonton design team can work hand in hand with our engineering team to develop drawings and layouts for all of our projects and proposals. Our design team uses the PC-3D BIM Modeling System when designing products, project or structures. The advantage of using the BIM system is it gives our designers the ability to show a full 3D model of the completed structure including every angle, level, component and connection detail all of which can be specifically highlighted, rotated or expanded upon. This technology is essential when developing bridge structures and specifically pre-stressed concrete bridge girders.
