Lafarge Precast is playing a pivotal role in the construction of Baydo Pointe, a significant new development for Edmonton, Alberta, in the Clareview area. Spearheaded by Baydo Development Corp, this development will feature three six-story apartment buildings, two with 118 units each and one with 92 units.
This project marks another milestone in Lafarge’s ongoing commitment to advancing the use of precast concrete in large-scale multi-family residential projects.
Baydo Pointe is ambitious and complex, requiring the integration of precast and structural steel construction in a modern approach that leverages the strengths of both materials. The addition of a single below-grade parkade highlights the comprehensive scope of the development, designed to provide residents with convenient and secure parking solutions.
Lafarge’s scope of work will include supplying and installing Hollowcore thin floor slabs for the apartment buildings and the parkade, ensuring structural efficiency and durability. Additionally, our team will supply and install precast balconies. The balcony will offer residents quality outdoor space, while the exterior, insulated precast wall panels will contribute to the building’s thermal efficiency and modern aesthetics.
As part of our comprehensive approach to project management, the Lafarge team will also oversee the installation of the owner-supplied structural steel. This ensures seamless material integration throughout the construction, a key factor in the development’s success.
Our work project highlights Lafarge’s expertise in delivering complex, high-quality construction solutions and emphasizes the company’s leadership in the precast concrete sector. It further reflects our commitment to expanding the use of precast in the growing multi-family residential market across Western Canada.
