PROJECT OVERVIEW

Lafarge Precast Edmonton is a major supplier to the “The Anthony Henday Ring Road” project which is set to finish construction in October of 2016, making this the first full City ring road in Alberta history.   Lafarge Precast Edmonton has been there from the start, working with Alberta Transportation and the major P3 partnerships to get this ring road completed on schedule.

SOUTHEAST ANTHONY HENDAY

Construction started on the SOUTHEAST portion of the Anthony Henday in 2001 and finished in 2006, connecting the Henday to the Whitemud.   This was Alberta's first major P3 (Private Public Partnership) project and Lafarge Precast Edmonton was there to provide over 300 NU girders for a variety of Bridge structures and approximately 200,000 Ft2 of MSE (mechanically stabilized earth) retaining wall panels.

ANTHONY HENDAY OVER STONEY PLAIN

Construction started on the Stoney Plain portion over Anthony Henday in 2009 was completed by October 2011.   This section consists of 7 bridge structures.   Lafarge Precast Edmonton provided approx 74 NU girders for a number of different Bridge structures. 

Lafarge Precast also provided 16 NU girders on 87th Street over Anthony Henday bridge structure and another 20 NU girders on the Anthony Henday over the Whitemud bridge structures.

 

 

 

NORTHEAST ANTHONY HENDAY 

Construction started on this final NORTHEAST portion of the Anthony Henday in 2012 and is scheduled to be complete by October 1st 2016, completing the first major ring road in Alberta.   This section consists of 47 bridge structures, comprised of 37 highway bridges, 8 rail bridges and 2 river crossing bridges.   Lafarge Precast Edmonton has been there to provide our expertise on approx 450 NU girders for the majority of Bridge structures and over 16,000 precast partial depth (stay in place) deck panels for all bridge structures.
