Lafarge Precast Edmonton

Remington Champagne ProjectLafarge Precast Edmonton Remington Champagne Project

Remington's Champagne is an exclusive residential property positioned along the Bow River in the Calgary community of Quarry Park. Champagne features French Provincial Architecture, supported with details such as natural stone, double balcony columns with capitals, cornices and steep pitched roof lines. Color palettes, construction materials and specifications differentiate this property from any other in Alberta.

Champagne comprises five individual buildings located on top of two levels of interconnected underground parking. The four and five story residences utilize precast concrete as the primary construction material. Resilience is an inherent feature of precast concrete construction and was a key requirement for this property.

Precast sandwich panels used on the exterior walls provide a superior building envelope that will not be damaged by extreme events such as fire, hail, or tornados.  In addition, concrete is not a food source for mould and it will not rot.

Precast provides the exterior stone facade, as well as balconies and supported by tapered columns with bases and capitals.   The interior of the structure uses long span concrete hollowcore floor slabs supported by precast concrete shearwalls and Delta Beams.  The stairs, stairwells, and the elevator shafts are constructed with precast concrete.

Concrete construction provides many advantages including privacy, sound attenuation, air quality and building reliability, all critical attributes for upscale, condominium residences.
